Hi, I’m A’jua, a Chicago-based DJ and photographer. I enjoy bringing fun and creativity into any atmosphere.
My story
Music has always been a driving force in my life. My earliest childhood memories are of me dancing (even when I wasn’t supposed to), and my desire is to pass on this contagious expression by controlling the room through the DJ booth or my camera.
The longer version
I’m an MBA-holder and an all-around Renaissance woman.What is a Renaissance woman? I’m glad you asked.It’s someone who does everything!My early years at Homan Square Culture Camp solidified that I could sing, dance, act, and rap. My friends had a fake rap group in 6th grade, and that’s where I came up with my tag (which you can hear on my recent mixes).I was inspired in high school to create my own open mic, because at that point, we only sang to worship. I thought, Why not show my talents that aren’t normally displayed in church? My principal and I spent hours planning my first successful open mic, which led me to logistics and planning (I loved the exhilaration of watching an event blossom from idea to launch).I’ve consolidated my life experiences to form my company Renaissance House Entertainment so that I can offer DJ-ing, photography, and event planning all under one roof, with the ultimate goal of RHE hosting its own parties all over America (accompanied by free and paid photography and the best DJs in the city!).

Receive a folder of twenty (20) edited photos within one week of shoot (slideshows are an additional $20)

Terms and non-negotiables
PAYMENTFor DJ services, payment must include a 50% deposit after the consultation call in order to book and reserve your spot, with the remaining balance due 24-hours prior to the event. For photography services, payment must include a 50% deposit after our consultation in order to book and reserve your date, with and the remaining balance due on the date of the shoot and no later than 11:59 PM on the day services are rendered.CONSULTATION FEEA non-refundable $25 consultation fee includes the consultation call and/or DMs to determine if I’m the right DJ for your event. If you were referred or if I’ve mixed for you in the past, the consultation fee is waved. Note that if half-payment is made upfront, the consultation fee is included in your first payment.VENUE ACCOMMODATIONSVenue accommodations must include speakers, Wifi, wall outlets and extension cords, adequate space for equipment that is at a distance from patrons, and bottled water. Outside accommodations must include a tent, a chair and an adequate set up which includes ,but is not limited to a mixer, proper chords, and a power strip.PROMOTIONSIf I'm DJing, my name, logo, or likeness must be present on all promo materials for the event.EVENT LOGISTICSEvent logistics are only offered as an add-on service for events I'm DJing (and then on a case-by-case basis, by request and depending on event specifics).TRAVELTravel to include full coverage of transportation, lodging accommodation, and meals.
